"Brilliant crimson with a vibrant purple hue, the Estate Syrah ’25 is bright, perfumed and immediately inviting. Raspberry coulis, boysenberry and warm blackberry syrup are layered with violets, pink peppercorn, cinnamon and hints of char. Soft, dense and medium bodied, the palate combines ripe red and dark fruits with creamy, dark chocolate-like tannins and balanced acidity that brings energy, focus and texture. Instantly approachable and immensely satisfying, Estate Syrah ’25 flows to a long finish with lingering spice, vanilla and berry richness.
The individual parcels of Syrah from each plot were destemmed for fermentation and remained on skins for extended maceration before pressing. The wine was then run off to a mixture of new and seasoned French oak barrels for 12 months’ maturation, during which time it was regularly topped and racked. The wine received traditional egg white fining before bottling."

"Offering excellent purity and perfume, the bouquet reveals Black Doris plum, sweet cherry, cured meat, violet, cinnamon, and assorted nut characters. The palate is succulent and plump, with excellent weight and persistence, beautifully supported by finely polished tannins that make it sturdy yet supple and velvety. At its best: 2027 to 2035."

"A Hawke’s Bay Syrah – something that the region is developing a growing reputation for. Te Mata use fruit from their own vineyards exclusively even for this entry-level tier of wines. Parcels of destemmed fruit came from three sub-regions – Dartmoor, Bridge Pā Triangle and Gimblett Gravels; harvested between 1 and 10 April 2025. A bright crimson-purple colour in the glass. Varietally-pure scents of boysenberry, black plum, bramble with baking spices, white pepper and violets florals adding to the complex, layered bouquet. Medium-bodied and well-structured, in a fruit-forward and ready to drink style. Supple tannin, clean acidity, velvet texture and a touch of barrel spice merge through the palate, flowing to a rich finish with more spice and a touch of chocolate. "
