Winery notes (2025 Vintage)
"MacMuir always has a distinctive nose: darker fruits, with leaf hints and a touch of forest floor. On the palate there is the immediate impact of MacMuir muscle, a solid authority rather than aggression, eventually revealing its subdued powerful core. While there is copious tannin, it is wonderfully fine, adding a note of suavity to what might otherwise be an expression of strength. An impeccable finish, long and pure."

Rated Outstanding & 95/100 Cameron Douglas MS, November 2025 (2024 Vintage)
"I have always liked and engaged with this style from the FR stable. Blair and the vineyard team have captured the fragrances of place with a stony clay soil baseline, layered with the savoury dried herb voice of the region and surrounding hillsides framing a core red berry flavours – a youthful expression – boysenberry and baked raspberry, some dark cherry skin ideas then barrel spices and smoke. Tasted over 3 days this wine remains young on each tasting, the tannins and acid line deliver a taut and focused mouthfeel, there’s polish, but also energy and power. Delicious, bright, youthful and requires cellar time to showcase its pinnacle moments of time and place. Best drinking from 2029 through 2038+."

94/100 Erin Larkin, RobertParker.com, February 2025 (2023 Vintage)
"The 2023 MacMuir Pinot Noir leads with cocoa powder and pomegranate, dried herbs and caper brine. The palate offers all of this and more, framed by fine, chalky tannins and a wash of juicy acidity that feels watercolor-like and impressionist in the mouth. I like this wine very much, and the slightly lighter frame this year works well for it. It is chewy and good, with asphalt and petrichor through the finish."

93/100 Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, October 2024 (2023 Vintage)
"Sage and stuffing, cherry and raspberry, kind of minty and squishy in red fruit and cherry, a dusty and grainy grip to tannin, quite some ripe orange tang to acidity, bacon and smoked things, with a finish of good length. Nice wine. Bacon bones is a thing here, but lots of character too."
