Winery notes (2025 Vintage)
"Red berries and cherries mixed with spicy and earthy notes. The texture of the wine is soft with supple tannins and carries flavours of red fruits and spice through the palate to a soft, persistent finish.
De-stemmed only. Total maceration time was 17 to 21 days. Malolactic fermentation in barrel, tight-grain French oak barriques (11% new). 10 months in oak."
92/100 Cameron Douglas MS, June 2026 (2025 Vintage)
"A distinctive varietal bouquet led by scents of plums and dark cherry, some earthy smoky barrel spice layers, a mix of clay mineral and sweet wood quality. Dry, textured with fine tannins, crisp with medium+ acid line and flavours of strawberry and cherry fruits, some red apple and earthy energy. Balanced though youthful with some tautness with best drinking from 2028 through 2033."

5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, July 2025 (2024 Vintage)
"It's beautifully fruited and inviting on the nose, showing dark plum, cherry, olive, game, and toasted nut aromas. The palate delivers succulent fruit flavours with supple texture and polished tannins, making it harmonious and structured with a persistent, satisfying finish. At its best: now to 2030."
92/100 David Walker Bell, WineFolio.co.nz, December 2025 (2024 Vintage)
"A Pinot Noir made in Martinborough, by local label Nga Waka – winner of a Gold Medal at the 2025 NZ International Wine Show. A bright mid-depth ruby red colour in the glass. Equally ruby flavours of cherry, redcurrant, cranberry and plum show in the bouquet and repeat through the palate. The regional style shows, with a line of earthy, savoury, umami characters as a counterpoint to fleshy fruits. Dry and full-bodied, with a dusting of oak spice and soft tannin enriching the structure mid-palate. Add in a glossy texture and reasonably lengthy finish, and this sub-$25 bottle is an easy choice."
4 ½ Stars, Best Buy & Top 10 Cuisine Pinot Noir Tasting, April 2026 (2024 Vintage)
"Florals and red fruits commingle on the nose with some herbal reduction peeking through. The palate is savoury and complex with lots of energy and great concentration of fruit. Fails to be typical in all the right ways with a mellow tannin profile and bright driving acidity."
