Mount Brown wines offer some of the best priced wines around and the fact that they are really good, delicious and local adds to the appeal. From the foothills of Mount Brown in the Waipara Valley comes this delicious Rosé made from Tempranillo, Syrah and Pinot Noir grapes. A vividly scented nose leads you to beautifully balanced palate of delicate mixed berries with subtle citrus giving depth and zip.

Winery notes (2025 Vintage)
"This delicious Rosé is made from three grapes, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo and Syrah giving it a beautiful depth of flavour. We love it with summer salads, light pasta dishes or seafood. But often a Rosé is just perfect on its own on a warm summers evening."

5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, September 2025 (2025 Vintage)
"This is instantly appealing on the nose, with aromas of watermelon, rockmelon, and lemon zest. The palate is equally attractive with fine flow and creamy texture, well supported by crisp acidity, offering excellent drinking. At its best: now to 2027. "

Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, September 2025 (2025 Vintage)
"A definitive blush rose hue with a silver polish leads to a bouquet of raspberry, plum and cherry with a floral and grey-stone mineral layer. A fresh and lively bouquet with a lick of fruit spice and tropical fruit tea scents. On the palate a delicious wine, salivating, fleshy and fruity wine with core flavours that reflect the bouquet, a vibrant acid line carries flavours of red berries and cherry, then skin spice and ginger. Super fine tannins and acidity deliver a nice chalk-like mouthfeel. Well made, balanced and ready to drink from day of purchase through end of summer 2027."

  • Mount Brown Estates is located in the foothills of Waipara Valley's Mount Brown, in the North Canterbury wine region.

  • From truly humble beginnings (a small abandoned vineyard overgrown with waist-high weeds), Tony Rutherford and his daughter Catherine Keith have since turned their once-daunting vision into reality, now boasting three award-winning vineyards and a winery.

  • Mount Brown Estates keeps their whole process—from grape to bottle—in-house, to be able to ensure desired quality standards. This was made possible when they built their winery and bottling line on the Lime Loader vineyard in 2013.

  • The foundation for their success is built on their gold medal-winning Riesling and Pinot Noir.

  • A wide-ranging recognition is increasingly coming from their Pinot Gris, which is perfectly suited to the North Canterbury terroir.
