"With its pretty salmon pink hue, Main Divide Rosé 2025 presents a captivating bouquet replete with strawberry, marshmallow, pear drop and daphne flower. The mouthfeel is dry and crisp, showcasing polished tannins and bright acidity that flows across the palate, delivering a lively dismount. The complementary varieties ensure the wine remains fleshy and supple, while also adding aroma and structure.
Carefully selected grapes from a unique assemblage of complementary varieties were harvested to make this wine. The free run juice was given a small amount of skin contact to add some colour. Fermentation was carried out in stainless steel vats at a cool temperature to retain varietal purity and freshness, with the wine being bottled shortly after."

"Ripe and fruity, fresh and lively with a bouquet and palate of fresh apricots and yellow plums, fresh roses and a mineral saline quality. A just dry wine with a fine fruit tannins texture and medium+ acid line. Balanced and well made with a gently salivating and silky mouthfeel. Best from 2026 through 2027+."

Main Divide is operated by the Donaldson family who work with a number of vineyards in North Canterbury, bringing the fruit together for processing at their winery in Waipara.
Like many New Zealand winemakers, Main Divide pursues a philosophy of natural methods and minimal intervention. They believe in sustainable viticulture, organic techniques, low crop levels, and minimal fruit handling during processing (along with gentle pressing).
Main Divide allows their wine to go through fermentation by wild yeasts, natural secondary or malo-lactic fermentation, and to clarify by settling.
Wine-maker Matthew Donaldson many years of experience and passion to produce a range of wines that show fresh, clean and pure fruit flavours while at the same time clearly expressing the characteristics of each unique vineyard. Matthew has many years experience making wine for both new and old world producers with a particular emphasis on Pinot Noir producing regions.
