Since building their own winery in 2013, the wines of Mount Brown have been going from strength to strength with much show success and great reviews across a number of varieties and, it would seem, an ever growing following out there in the marketplace. The 2025 Pinot Gris is just off-dry in style with plenty of fruit packed into it. Subtle honey notes and cleansing acidity give it great persistence. Delicious drinking and really sharply priced!

Mount Brown Estates is located in the foothills of Waipara Valley's Mount Brown, in the North Canterbury wine region.

From truly humble beginnings (a small abandoned vineyard overgrown with waist-high weeds), Tony Rutherford and his daughter Catherine Keith have since turned their once-daunting vision into reality, now boasting three award-winning vineyards and a winery.

Mount Brown Estates keeps their whole process—from grape to bottle—in-house, to be able to ensure desired quality standards. This was made possible when they built their winery and bottling line on the Lime Loader vineyard in 2013.
