New Zealand Méthode Traditionnelle wines are made using the same winemaking process as Champagne and including the same grape varieties, just grown locally, providing an exciting New World spin on time-honoured flavours. Marlborough in particular has a climate particularly suited to the ‘traditional method’, producing sparkling wines with a bright, lively acidity (when compared to the richer offerings further north in Gisborne and Hawke’s Bay).
