Gold Medal – Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Competition
Winery notes (2020 Vintage)
"Ripe hand picked fruit, gentle winemaking and maturation in French oak have resulted in a complex and powerful wine. It has a perfumed nose of darks fruits, violets and liquorice with a hint of spice. Ripe berry, plum, cherry and chocolate show on the palate with a long sweet fruit finish. A great example of one of the best Central Otago Pinot Noirs. Drinking fantastically well now and will develop and cellar for several years."
5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, March 2025 (2020 Vintage)
"Gorgeously styled and expressed, the wine shows sweet plum, dried herb, warm spice, and assorted nut characters on the nose. The wonderfully weighted palate delivers a fleshy texture backed by layers of fine tannins, making it structured and sturdy, while remaining silky and soothing. At its best: now to 2032. "
Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, April 2025 (2020 Vintage)
"Complex, developing, varietal and enticing bouquet of dried herbs and plums, there’s a savoury quality then red cherry and spice. Dry, salivating a rather delicious on the palate. Flavours of bracken and dried herbs, desiccated cherry flesh and red fruit compote then baking spice of vanilla and clove reflecting the bouquet and region. Fine through firm-ish tannins and acidity frame the palate and confirm the WT style. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2030+."
5 Stars & 93/100 Sammy Wilkinson, TheWineWriter.com (2020 Vintage)
"Perfumed and fine, with ripe strawberries and juicy raspberry layered over cola cubes, creamy cocoa, toasty oak and a touch of earth and white pepper. The palate is bright and velvety, with polished, rounded fruit and beautifully integrated tannins. Dense red fruit flows seamlessly into vanilla and toast, finishing long and smooth. Elegant yet complex — drinking beautifully now, through 2028."
5 Stars & 94/100 Candice Chow, CandiceWineChat.com (2020 Vintage)
"A smooth mouthfeel carrying silky tannins, juicy black fruit and thyme, harmonious barrel spice integration linger to a broody, long finish. Gentle and elegant aromas of blackberry, black cherry, thyme, cinnamon, vanilla and cocoa."
