Winery notes (2025 Vintage)
"Pale pink with aromas of rose petals, strawberries, and cherries. Dry and vibrant with a creamy texture, fresh acidity, and a crisp, refreshing finish.

Under the direction of Chief Winemaker, John Kavanagh, our winemaking philosophy places a premium on the character of each vineyard. Our 2025 Pinot Noir Rosé is made from Abel clone fruit selected from our Spring Rock & Rua Vineyards which are at slightly higher elevations than our other Martinborough Vineyards. All of our vineyards are sustainably farmed.

Fruit was gently pressed on arrival to the winery and cool fermented in stainless steel to maintain its fresh flavour. Pressing was very gentle to avoid the pickup of too much colour from the skins. A smaller portion (12%) was fermented in old French oak puncheons to add extra texture and complexity to the wine. The wine was aged on light lees then blended and bottled."

5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, September 2025 (2025 Vintage)
"Offering stunning fruit purity and poise, the finely scented bouquet shows watermelon, sweet strawberry, creaming soda, and white floral nuances, leading to an elegantly flowing palate that's vibrant and refreshing. Fabulously styled with a lengthy, succulent finish. At its best: now to 2027."

93/100 David Walker Bell, WineFolio.co.nz, October 2025 (2025 Vintage)
"A wine made from Pinot Noir in Martinborough – winner of a Double Gold medal at NZIWS this year. A well-presented wine – in a category where that and the colour of the wine is so important. A very pale coral pink colour in the glass. Crisp and vivid on the nose with red berries, redcurrant, peach and orange peel aromas. Fruit-forward and lush in the palate, where bright acidity adds prickle across the tongue. A dash of spice sits well with the smooth texture at the back of the palate. Look for this on your lunch table this summer."

Te Kairanga sits at the heart of Martinborough’s wine story, its vines rooted in the very land farmed by town founder John Martin in the 1880s. Revitalised in the 1980s by a new generation of pioneers, the estate continues to realise the potential of this special site. Pinot Noir is the beating heart, complemented by small, characterful parcels of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Riesling that showcase the region’s cool-climate abundance. Once a place known for sheep, Martinborough became a magnet for the wine-curious—and Te Kairanga embodies that spirit. Winemaker John Kavanagh moved here specifically for Pinot Noir, guiding wines that are detailed, site-true and unmistakably Martinborough.
