Te Kairanga sits at the heart of Martinborough’s wine story, its vines rooted in the very land farmed by town founder John Martin in the 1880s. Revitalised in the 1980s by a new generation of pioneers, the estate continues to realise the potential of this special site. Pinot Noir is the beating heart, complemented by small, characterful parcels of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Riesling that showcase the region’s cool-climate abundance. Once a place known for sheep, Martinborough became a magnet for the wine-curious—and Te Kairanga embodies that spirit. Winemaker John Kavanagh moved here specifically for Pinot Noir, guiding wines that are detailed, site-true and unmistakably Martinborough.

Excellent wine store! Probably the best in town. You can find wall kinds of wine and from around the world. I even found a wine from my hometown Uruguay which is not easy to find at all on this side of the globe.
