Selected by Cameron Douglas MS for the Top 12 Hawkes Bay Chardonnay Collection 2022

Winery notes (2022 Vintage)
"The 2022 single vineyard, barrel fermented Chardonnay offers a sophisticated soft wine with restrained flavours of grapefruit, melon and a subtle blend of nut, spicy oak and lees characters. Barrel fermented and Barrel aged in new and older French oak adds complexity and texture."

94/100 Jamie Goode, WineAnorak.com, August 2024 (2022 Vintage)
"There’s some mealy richness to this wine which offers broad pear and peach fruit, with a fine spiciness. Nice acidity: tense but rich at the same time, showing a touch of pineapple richness as well as bright grapefruit and lime. The oak is really well integrated. Lovely stuff in a bold style. "

92/100 David Walker Bell, WineFolio.co.nz, July 2024 (2022 Vintage)
"A classic Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay perfume, with generous citrus and stonefruit flavours, overlaid on hazelnut, oatmeal and baking spice notes. More exotic notes of melon and fig develop on the palate. A solid depth and a framework of subtle oak and zesty acidity is well-rounded, allowing the fruit to shine. That mealy note reappears in the creamy texture and slides the wine into a dry, pithy finish."

17/20 JancisRobinson.com, July 2024 (2022 Vintage)
"Saline and savoury on the nose – very appetising and racy with sufficient subtlety to convince the taster that it might evolve into something even more interesting. Dry finish. Well judged and distinctive."
