Chardonnay is far and away our most popular white variety, and if there's one thing we know about our customers, it's that plenty of you love a rich, full-flavoured Chardonnay with a good dose of oak. Even better when the price is right!

Back in 2024, Squawking Magpie owner Gavin Yortt approached us with a special parcel of premium Hawke's Bay Chardonnay from the 2021 vintage, left over from a cancelled export order. We tasted it, loved it, negotiated a sharp deal, and it went on to become a huge hit with our customers.

Well, we've managed to do it again! Another parcel of this premium SQM Chardonnay, this time from the excellent 2025 Hawke's Bay vintage, and still at the fantastic price of just $24.99.

Made from selected low-yielding vineyard blocks, fermented and matured in French oak, this is Chardonnay firmly in the generous, full-bodied camp. Think ripe golden peach, tropical fruit, roasted cashews, creamy butterscotch and beautifully integrated spicy oak. Rich, luscious and absolutely delicious.

Already awarded 95 points by Sam Kim, this is right in the zone for lovers of bigger Chardonnay styles, and we suspect it will be every bit as popular as the last release.
