Everyone loves a good secret!

Our own Secret Source label is back, with the brand-new 2024 release of our hugely popular Pisa Single Vineyard Pinot Noir.

We’ve been doing Secret Source for a few years now, and the idea has always been very simple: find wines that seriously over-deliver for their price, from sources we know and trust, and offer them at a price that makes you wonder how we managed it.

This latest release absolutely fits the brief.

While we obviously can’t tell you exactly where it comes from, we can tell you that this is not a second label, downgraded wine or surplus blend. This is the winery’s premium Pinot Noir, made from a single vineyard in Pisa and normally destined to sit comfortably amongst considerably more expensive Central Otago Pinot Noirs.

The 2024 is particularly impressive. There’s vibrant cherry and dark plum fruit, lifted florals and a gentle touch of spice, with lovely purity and flow through the palate. Silky in texture, with fine-grained tannins and plenty of freshness through the finish, it is immediately delicious but has more than enough structure to develop nicely over the next few years.

At $24.99, this is the sort of value we are always looking for with Secret Source. Proper Central Otago Pinot Noir, with plenty of pedigree behind it, at a price that makes it very easy to recommend.
