Organic Vineyard of the Year – New Zealand Organic Wine Awards 2024
Trophy for Champion Rosé – New Zealand Organic Wine Awards 2024
Gold Medal – New Zealand Organic Wine Awards 2024

Long considered one of Central Otago's very best Rosés the new vintage of Amisfield has arrived and she's a beauty. With good concentration of cherry and berry fruit and a touch of spice, it has lovely weight and gentle creaminess on the palate with a lick of minerality giving it freshness and length.

Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Vibrant and electric pink in colour, the nose exudes florals, rose water and bright red berries. The palate combines juicy watermelon and crunchy fresh pomegranate, delicately balancing a succulent mid palate with a refreshing dry finish."

4 Stars Cuisine Rosé Tasting, December 2023 (2023 Vintage)
"Youthful and bright with high-toned aromas of strawberries, watermelon and peaches on the nose. The palate is equally vibrant with citrus-blossom flavours. The wine is excellently structured with a juicy mid palate, lovely avidity and a delicious finish."

Reviews for the 2022 vintage below…

Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, October 2022 (2022 Vintage)
"Fabulous natural hues of red, pink and peach – leading to aromas and flavours of raspberry and red cherry, roses and a chalky mineral quality. Crisp, fruity, refreshing and dry with a fine chalky tannin mouthfeel, refreshing and salivating acidity with core fruit flavours finishing with a red apple bite. Perfect for summer 2023 and 2024."

91/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review (2022 Vintage)
"Reasonably deep-coloured rosé with quite intense strawberry and cream, oyster shell, and raspberry flavours supported by tangy acidity that helps drive a lengthy finish. Bold, flavoursome rosé."

Set against the backdrop of the majestic Pisa mountain range, Amisfield is one of Central Otago's largest single estate vineyards. Inspired by childhood holidays in Central Otago, founder John Darby sought to master this breathtaking yet challenging high country, believing it ideal for cool-climate viticulture. After an exhaustive search, he discovered Amisfield Farm, a former merino sheep station, and planted the first vines in 1999. The vineyard thrives in a continental climate with cold winters, hot summers, and low rainfall.

In 2021, Amisfield completed a five-year transition to organic viticulture and was named Organic Vineyard of the Year in 2020 and 2022. Their philosophy is to nurture nature at every step, resulting in wines of exceptional purity, intensity, and vibrancy.

Designed by architect Charlie Nott in 2006, Amisfield's modern winery features a 600-tonne production capacity. Here, winemakers employ a hands-off approach, allowing nature to shape the wines.

Amisfield's organic vineyard produces wines with distinctive regional characteristics. Visitors to the Cellar Door can indulge in tastings of Pinot Noir vintages and a range of white wines, guided by passionate staff eager to showcase the unique flavours of Central Otago.
