"Spicy aromas of black and white pepper abound with a heady perfume of orange blossom, mandarin skin essence, grapefruit and melon with hints of apricot kernels. The palate is rich and full yet with an elegance and purity at the same time; this is portrayed by the ripe flavours of passionfruit, orange and honey which is complimented by white pepper and lime zest. The palate is rich and long yet perfectly balanced by the acid leaving ones mouth cleansed and refreshed, making another glass irresistible."

"In the cool 2014 vintage, the 2014 Riesling wasn't harvested until May 1. The wine shows aromas of honey and a bit of petrol, plus Golden Delicious apple, stone fruit and lime flavours. It's medium to full-bodied and off-dry in style (12 grams per litre residual sugar), with a finish that's long, rich and spicy. Drink 2018-2023."

"Very arresting labels! Looks very dense. Really full and chock-full of flavour. The odd German might argue this is not refined enough but it's certainly attention grabbing and brilliantly distinctive in an NZ context. Off dry. Herbal stew. Tastes sponti, biodynamic and very long. A good place to be! Aggressively different."

"Brilliant straw-yellow colour with lemon-gold hues. The nose is full and lively with bright fruit aromas of jasmine, exotic yellow florals and honeysuckle, along with layers of limes, marmalade, minerals and toast. This has freshness and intensity. Medium in sweetness, the fruit flavours of citrus fruits, yellow florals, honey and toast are rich and concentrated forming a luscious core and very fine-textured line. The mouthfeel is lively with excellent acidity and energy, and the wine flows with plenty of drive, carrying to a very long and sustained finish of honey and exotic florals. This is a fresh, lively, exotic medium Riesling with concentration and richness. Serve with Asian cuisine over the next 5-6 years. Fruit from ‘The Mound’ and ‘Bedford’ vineyards with 5% botrytis infection, given some skin contact and cool-fermented in stainless-steel t0 13.0% alc. and 16 g/L RS, TA 7.3 g/L and pH 3.2, the wine aged on lees 4-5 months."

This latest offering combines vibrancy with sensuality, and delivers loads of pleasing flavours. Beautifully perfumed with stone fruit, floral, mandarin and a hint of honey on the nose. The palate is concentrated and finely textured with subliminal sweetness backed by bright acidity. Delightfully refreshing and immensely enjoyable already, this is a brilliantly structured riesling with a promising future. At its best: now to 2023."

"The slightly honeyed 2013 vintage was grown at two sites - the Bedford and Mound vineyards - and hand-picked in early May with a slight noble rot infection (5 per cent). Perfumed and full-bodied (13 per cent alcohol), it has rich grapefruit, peach and lime flavours, with a hint of marmalade, and a splash of sweetness (16 grams/litre of residual sugar) balanced by appetising acidity. A rich, harmonious wine, it's drinking well from the start."
