Ruby red with translucent crimson hue. Aromas of black cherry and rustic wild berry lift. Forest floor earthy notes of mushrooms. Ripe fruit sweetness of spiced cherries, juicy mid-palate finishing with silky soft tannins."

"​Very dark, deep, ruby-red colour with some black-purple hues. The nose is softly full and gently voluminous with aromatically sweet and ripe aromas of dark raspberry and dark-red berry fruits along with red florals, some savoury, spicy game, and lifted volatile elements. Medium-bodied, the palate features bright, juicy , lively and aromatically ripe savoury dark red berry fruit flavours melded with dark herbal and dark red floral notes with lifted esters and some volatility. The mouthfeel is fine-textured and is enlivened by fresh, lacy acidity, forming a supple core with good linearity. The flavours carry to a fine-textured, lingering finish. This is a bright, ripe, juicy and luscious St Laurent with savoury dark –red berry flavours with savoury suggestions, a supple and lively mouthfeel, and some lifted notes. Match with Asian fare, and wild duck and pork over the next 4-5 years. 95% St Laurent and 5% Syrah from the ‘Spade Oak’ Vineyard’, destemmed and indigenous yeast fermented to 12.5% alc. and 3.5 g/L RS, the wine spending 26 days on skins and aged 12 months in French oak barrels, with 25% new oak equivalence. 125 dozen made."
