Winery notes (2014 Vintage)
"This particular source of Saint Joseph constantly intrigues me and gives me so much joy that it would be impossible for me to work with any other source. In any case, it would be difficult to find a better one. Amongst the rolling hills of Malleval, Saint Joseph vineyards lie alongside parcels of Condrieu. Classification of the two appellations led to a tangled, yet organised web of vineyards. To define which plots were the coldest, my geologist friend Georges Truc, who took part in the re-demarcation of the Saint Joseph appellation area, listed plots where snow took the longest to melt after a period of snowfall. When he told me this, I suddenly remembered that intelligence and creativity are at the heart of our job.

Our 2014 Saint Joseph is a real ‘star’ of the vintage: its nose of redcurrant, small crisp wild raspberry, candied liquorice and Oriental spices lead into a full, fruity palate where depth is created by mouth-filling freshness from start to finish. When I taste it, I can’t help but think about the granite and slate soils. You can savour this wine all year round, even in the summer. Enjoy! Redcurrant, wild raspberry, liquorice and tobacco box. Bottled without filtering."
91-93/100 Antonio Galloni, Vinous (2014 Vintage)
"Inky ruby. Strongly perfumed aromas of blackberry, boysenberry and smoky minerals carry a subtle peppery overtone. Seamless, pliant and gently sweet, offering concentrated dark berry and cola flavours and a touch of star anise on the back half. Gains richness with air and finishes very long and smoky, displaying building tannins and a late suggestion of olive. There's an intriguing umami character to this wine that should make it very flexible at the table."
91/100 Wine Spectator (2014 Vintage)
"Shows some rusticity, with bay, pepper and game notes leading the way, though there are enough lush blackberry and plum compote flavours at the core to match. Reveals a charcoal edge through the finish. For fans the old-school style. Drink now through 2022. 750 cases made."
