"Our Pinot Gris features ripe peach, nectarine and Nashi pear aromas, heralding a vibrantly fruity off-dry palate.
This combined with a very long, zesty finish complements rich or light seafood meals or most Asian-spiced cuisine, though its extraordinary versatility should be experienced over a wide range of dishes."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, August 2017 (2016 Vintage)
"This is impressively fruited and complex on the nose showing baked pear, yellow stone fruit, warm spice and potpourri aromas, leading to a concentrated palate that is generously expressed and richly textured. The wine is opulent and striking with gorgeous fruit flavours and subtle savoury notes. At its best: now to 2019."
4 Stars & 18.0+/20 Raymond Chan, August 2017 (2016 Vintage)
"Bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hues, a little paler on the rim. The nose is fresh and tightly bound with intense and penetrating aromas of pear fruit with exotic floral elements, suggestions of honeysuckle and refreshing thirst-quenching minerals. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the flavours of white and yellow stonefruits and pears are entwined with mineral notes to form a finely concentrated core. The palate is firm and has linearity, with fresh, crisp acidity lending a raciness to the mouthfeel. The flavours carry to a sustained, mouthwatering finish of minerals. This dry Pinot Gris has very intense aromatic and mouthfilling flavours of stonefruits, pears, florals an minerals on a brisk, thirst-quenching palate. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the ‘Dustbowl’ and ‘Gibbston Valley Back Road’ vineyards and fermented in stainless-steel tank on gross lees to 11.5% alc. and 4 g/L RS. 2,300 dozen made."
4 Stars Michael Cooper (2016 Vintage)
"Grown at Parkburn, in the Cromwell Basin, and at Gibbston, the 2016 vintage is a pale, attractively scented wine, mouthfilling and vibrant, with strong, citrusy, peachy flavours, fresh acidity and a dry (4 grams/litre of residual sugar) finish. Finely balanced, with good intensity, it's delicious in its youth, but also worth cellaring."
Yvonne Lorkin, September 2017 (2016 Vintage)
"Crafted from fruit sourced from Rockburn’s ‘Parkburn’ and ‘Gibbston Valley Back Road’ vineyards, I love the subtle splash of white pepper, nashi pear, fennel and white peach on both the nose and palate of this wine. Dry, clean and boasting underlying creamy, chalky textures and real fruit fullness, this beautifully balanced gris is long and luscious on the finish and beautifully balanced."
