"The fruit for this wine was grown in our estate vineyard in the heart of Waipara. The fruit was harvested early to ensure great crisp red fruit characters and retain acidity. 100% Pinot Noir was de-stemmed and pressed over 2 hours, fermented dry in stainless steel tanks and then aged for 5 months in seasoned oak barrels."

Note, for orders of 1 - 2 bottles we charge an additional $6 for packaging. To ensure the safety of the bottles we use specially designed posting boxes.

The Crater Rim takes its name from the twin craters of the ancient Akaroa and Lyttelton volcanos. Eruptions from these majestic landforms in ages past gifted the surrounding land with an enduring fertility.
The Crater Rim's first yineyard was planted above Akaroa township and the significance of this location in terms of its climatic effect on the whole region of Canterbury meant this brand would extend to include plantings in additional sub-regionsof Waipara, Omihi and Banks Peninsula and Central Otago.
Waipara, in North Canterbury's hills, is now the home base for The Crater Rim where specific sub-regional terriors contribute to the wines produced on their vineyards. Exceptional Pinot Noir is produced at The Crater Rim's winery site, Omihi Rise, also in North Canterbury. The Frahar Vineyard in Waipara also supplies Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc grapes.
The Crater Rim is a frequent recipient of awards, including multiple medals in the New World Wine Awards and regular reviews by Sam Kim of Wine Orbit.
Helpful knowledgeable staff and great selection. Only two types of gift boxing so take your own if you want it to look celebratory.

Excellent wine store! Probably the best in town. You can find wall kinds of wine and from around the world. I even found a wine from my hometown Uruguay which is not easy to find at all on this side of the globe.
