Sometimes a deal falling over works out rather nicely for us…
This one-off Sauvignon Blanc was destined for export, but when that deal fell through, we got the chance to snaffle it for the local market. And at the price we can offer it, this is seriously good news for Sauvignon Blanc drinkers.
Made from organic, estate-grown fruit at Terrace Edge, the same winery that was named NZ Organic Winery of the Year, this is a departure from their usual barrel-influenced Sauvignon. Instead, it is all about purity, freshness, and classic New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc character.
Think grapefruit, guava, pineapple, gooseberry and fresh herbs, with plenty of juicy fruit, crisp acidity and a long, refreshing finish.
Essentially, it's the sort of Sauvignon Blanc you'd expect to find in a considerably more expensive bottle, offered at a price more commonly associated with mass-produced Marlborough.
A one-off. Organic. Estate grown. And a rather good reason to drink Sauvignon Blanc.
Winery notes (2025 Vintage)
"Dry style – a richer take on classic New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit is picked at optimal ripeness to showcase bold, tropical flavours, while partial barrel fermentation adds layers of texture and subtle complexity. A wine that reflects its place with generosity and depth."
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit NZ, September 2025 (2025 Vintage)
"Fabulously fruited and fragrant, the bouquet presents apricot, green rockmelon, grapefruit, and lemon zest aromas, with a hint of a flinty overtone. It's splendidly weighted and lively in the mouth, offering bright fruit flavours with saline texture and crisp acidity, making it immediately appealing. Certified organic. At its best: now to 2029."
5 Stars & 18.5/20 (93) Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, July 2025 (2025 Vintage)
"Bright, even, pale yellow with a light green hue. This has an appealing bouquet, with aromas of guava, lime, gooseberry and basil. Medium-light bodied, aromas of grava entwined with lime and gooseberry, and a hint of basil spice on the finish. The taut acidity flows softly on a silky mouthfeel and lends a refreshing, elegant finish. Match with clams and cod over the next 3-4 years. Fermented to 13% alc. BioGro organic certified, vegan friendly."

"Fresh, juicy and tropical, with passion fruit, papayas and limes on the nose, following through to a medium body with zesty acidity. Citrusy, with a mouthwatering finish. From organically grown grapes. Sustainable."
