Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"Aromas of gooseberries, sweet capsicum, meyer lemon, hints of basil and crushed tomato leaf combined with warm, wet river gravels. Bright citrus, fresh granny smith, white nectarine with underlying tropical notes and crushed passionfruit seed on the reprise. All encased by a generous silken texture. The palate is washed over with a saline minerality to give a refreshingly dry savoury finish.
All fruit is estate grown organically. We are looking for a combination of ripe flavours, bold acidity, and satisfying texture. We pick the fruit from each of our three terraces individually and they remain separate throughout vinification."
Rated Excellent & 94/100 Cameron Douglas MS, March 2025 (2024 Vintage)
"A lovely bouquet filled with scents of site and mineral then ripe citrus and apple, the inherent tropical fruit suggestions are layers as opposed to drivers. Young, fresh and vibrant. On the palate the mineral and saline qualities are amplified by acidity and power to reveal a delicious expression with flavours of grapefruit and mandarin, lime flower and white pineapple. Nice length and mouthfeel with best drinking from day of purchase through 2029."
93/100 Stephen Wong MW, The Real Review, June 2025 (2024 Vintage)
"A food-friendly sauvignon blanc from the cooler western terraces of North Canterbury, inland from Waipara, this is a blend of blocks across the vineyard and kept pure and fresh in the winery. A remarkable meeting of grape variety and site expression and one which will improve in bottle in the near-term.
Restrained and textural sauvignon blanc with a strong streak of minerality. The light-weight, crisp green apple and fennel flavours are infused on a weighty, chalky and even slightly creamy palate. Notes of grapefruit rind and savoury tomato stalk emerge on the bone-dry, etched, grainy finish. A touch austere at this stage, it has the depth and length to emerge with more perfume in the coming months."
