Gold Medal – New Zealand International Wine Show 2026
Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Aromas of honey-suckle, greengage, quince and a hint of lanolin. This wine has a rich and mouth filling palate with both clean greengage, quince and pineapple fruit flavours and complexing hints of honey. The high natural acidity lends to the long, crisp finish.
Great care was taken in the vineyard to ensure an even ripeness of the bunches. The grapes were select hand-picked and whole cluster pressed to minimise phenolics. The juice was transferred to old oak puncheons where it underwent spontaneous fermentation with a wild yeast strain from the vineyard. The wine was aged in these barrels for 7 months, before a further 3 months in stainless steel."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, February 2025 (2023 Vintage)
"It's delightfully expressed on the nose, showing baked apple, apricot, citrus peel, and warm spice aromas, followed by a succulent palate displaying fleshy texture backed by crunchy acidity, making it flavoursome and structured with a lingering, juicy finish. At its best: now to 2030."
