Trophy for Champion Pinot Gris – New Zealand International Wine Show 2026
Double Gold Medal – New Zealand International Wine Show 2026
We've long championed the Rapaura Springs Reserve range as offering some of the best value wines in our shop, and their Pinot Gris is consistently one of our biggest sellers. Now the 2026 vintage has taken out the Champion Pinot Gris Trophy at the 2026 New Zealand International Wine Show, announced just last week! At only $16.99, it's another remarkable achievement for a wine that continues to punch well above its price point.
This is a beautifully generous Marlborough Pinot Gris, bursting with ripe nashi pear, apricot and melon, alongside delicate florals and a hint of spice. The palate is juicy, rounded and silky textured, with just a touch of sweetness balanced by refreshing acidity. Full of flavour, wonderfully approachable and dangerously easy to drink. It's not hard to see why this is such a perennial favourite.
Winery notes (2026 Vintage)
"Influenced by Marlborough’s memorable style, our Reserve Pinot Gris has crunchy nashi pear, apricot, and melon aromas, with a hint of spice. Full of fruit on the palate, but not too sweet, this off-dry wine is made in our very own signature style."
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, June 2026 (2026 Vintage)
"This is instantly appealing on the nose with aromas of Gala apple, rockmelon, poached pear, and white flowers. It's juicy and beautifully rounded in the mouth, delivering a silky texture and fine acidity, making it refreshing and splendidly drinkable. At its best: now to 2028."
