Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Crafted amidst the rolling vineyards of Stellenbosch, South Africa, the Dolomite Cabernet Franc 2023 by Raats Family Wines stands as a testament to the region's rich winemaking heritage. Born from a dedication to excellence and a passion for the craft, this wine embodies the essence of its terroir, offering a glimpse into the heart and soul of Stellenbosch's winemaking tradition.
The nose shows dark and red cherry. Dark berries, spiciness and herbs linger on the palate. The wine has great purity of fruit with a hint of wet-stone minerality and a velvet soft finish."

"Wow, super good value!' were the first words I wrote on tasting this – and not surprising with Cabernet Franc maestro Bruwer Raats behind it. A 10% addition of Malbec gives lovely plushness and 14 months in oak adds a gentle smoky depth, but the flavours are all Franc: inky blue and blackberries, blood plums, crushed herbs and lingering graphite freshness, all cloaked in supple tannins. Vegan."
92/100 Tim Atkin MW, Special Report South Africa 2022 (2020 Vintage)
"Dolomite is the cheapest of Bruwer Raats’ impressive trio of Cabernet Francs, made with fruit from Bottelary and the Polkadraai HIlls. Very lightly wooded to let the fruit express itself, it has violet and green pepper aromas and a racy, refreshing plum and black cherry palate.”
