Gold Medal – Perth Royal Wine Awards 2024
Top Riesling from the Eden Valley. Pewsey Vale consistently set the bar high and 2024 vintage is no exception. Offering aromas of fine dried herbs, white florals and freshly cut citrus. The palate displays a combination of fresh rosemary, white pepper and tropical fruit. There's great length and depth, finishing with clean and balancing natural acidity.
Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"Riesling is our single focus. Naturally our undivided attention goes into making a Riesling that’s simply delicious. Every bottle captures the purity of our single site vineyard in Eden Valley where nature is left undisturbed to do its thing. It’s no wonder we consistently deliver high quality award-winning Riesling. Pewsey Vale was the first Riesling vineyard planted in Eden Valley more than 175 years ago. Consistent in flavour and quality from vintage to vintage. Flavourful and refreshing with an approachable, soft natural acidity iconic to Eden Valley.
Pale straw with green hues. Intense aromas of white flowers, fresh limes and a hint of fine dried herbs. A long, rich palate reminiscent of limes and fresh rosemary. The wine finishes with soft natural acidity which balances the flavour and minerality that is delicious now or will reward medium to long-term cellaring. Enjoy with fresh oysters, seared scallops, salt and pepper squid, Thai beef salad, or a tomato salad with pickled walnuts and fresh basil."
93/100 Dave Brookes, James Halliday's Wine Companion (2024 Vintage)
"I've mentioned before that when I lived in the Eden Valley we referred to this wine as 'Eden Valley San Pellegrino', such was its constant presence in the fridge for rehydration purposes. It's just a consistently cracking drink, with classic regional characters of Bickford's lime cordial, green apple, Christmas lily, crushed stone and white flowers. Crisp, dry, sleek in its travel and great drinking as always."

"Let's be honest with one another… If I'm down to my last thirty bucks and a bit thirsty, I'm running at Riesling. The quality and value you get is immense. This Pewsey Vale is one I'd easily chase down. Always a reliable performer, this 2024 is no different. More lemons than limes, some grapefruit is not far from the action either. A little quartz like interest adds to the minerally drive with fine yellow plums and green apple. Orange blossom builds pretty aromatic momentum with time in the glass but I'm just here for its supreme refreshment. Yes! Drink now."
