​"Our 2024 Kloof Street Rouge brims with beautiful berry fruit on both the nose and palate. This Swartland medley shows great balance, rounded with hints of spice on the finish. Each variety in the blend adds depth to the wine – the Cinsault brings perfume, the Grenache brings fruit character, and the Syrah ties it all together. Enjoy now and over the next 2-3 years.

The grapes for our 2024 Kloof Street Rouge come from six sustainably farmed vineyard parcels in different parts of the Swartland, aged 9-50 years: Two parcels of Syrah and one parcel of Cinsault and Grenache each from the stony Shale and Schist based soils of Roundstone farm at the foot of Kasteelberg; and another parcel of Syrah, from the decomposed Granite of the Paardeberg.

From sustainably farmed vineyard parcels in different parts of the Swartland, up to 48 years in age: Two parcels of Syrah and one parcel of Cinsault and Grenache from the stony Shale and Schist based soils ofn Roundstone Farm on the Kasteelberg; and one parcel of dry land, bushvine Syrah planted in the decomposed Granite soils of the Paardeberg. This wine was matured for 11 months in 3rd and 4th fill French oak 225L barrels & 500L demi-muids, as well as large upright wooden vats."

"Almost too good,” mused Chris Mullineux when he poured this wine, and I know what he means. Combining Syrah, 30% Grenache, 17% Tinta Barocca, and 10% Cinsault, it massively over-delivers at its price point, with perfumed 30% whole bunches, bramble, red cherry, and white pepper flavours, and some granitic grip and freshness. Almost impossible to beat at the price."
