Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Another Single Vineyard Pinot from the Mt Maude pedigree. Six rows of Dijon Pinot Noir clones were planted in 2000 and dedicated to Dawn and Terry's grandchildren. Now, not unlike the grandchildren themselves, they're reaching a level of maturity and personalities are starting to emerge. We enjoy harnessing those personalities into a Pinot Noir respectful of the Mt Maude name, albeit defined by vibrancy and vitality that leaps out of the glass at you.
Beautifully scented with violets, dark cherry, bramble and dried herb aromas. Medium – full bodied with layers of dark fruits and fine tannins."

"At the top of the Mt Maude vineyard, there are six rows of Dijon clone Pinot Noir clones – planted for each of the six grandchildren of owner’s Dawn and Terry Wilson – and known as ‘Kid’s Block’. The nose is a pure Pinot-varietal perfume, with black cherry, redcurrant, raspberry and elderberry spiced up with clove, cinnamon and orange peel. The palate has a firm structure built on a juicy acidity, but with dry tannin in support. An earthy, savoury, mid-palate with peat, nori and terracotta adds complexity over that plush fruit. A well-balanced, dry and persistent finish for a wine that is drinking very well straightaway."
