It's quite a mouthful to say but this charming red from one of Southern France's greatest producers is well worth all those syllables. Coming from old vines in one of the hottest and driest regions in France, it finds the perfect balance between sweet fruit and savoury elements. It punches well above its weight.
"This wine, Bila-Haut by Michel Chapoutier, Cotes Du Roussillon Villages Rouge is one of those consistently good wines. It’s become one of those wines that when I need to pick up a bottle at a wine shop it’s an easy choice, because I know it will be good."

90/100 Jeb Dunnuck, January 2022 (2020 Vintage)
"Bottled in April, the 2020 Côtes Du Roussillon Villages Bila Haut offers lots of jammy black and blue fruits as well as peppery herbs. It’s ripe, medium to full-bodied, and opulent while still holding onto a terrific sense of purity."
89-91/100 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2017 Vintage)
"Tasted as a prospective blend prior to bottling, the 2017 Les Vignes de Bila Haut was lush, creamy and generous. It's loaded with vibrant cherry fruit, framed by supple tannins and just downright delicious."
