Château de La Negly is situated on the prime chalky terroir of La Clape in the Languedoc, in sight of the Mediterranean, whose cooling breezes moderate the maturation. Aromas of blackberry and cassis with hints of fruit skin on the palate.

"Château de la Négly may be the Languedoc-Roussillon's finest estate. The brilliant oenologist Claude Gros oversees the winemaking, and everything is done with incredible attention to detail, aiming for world class wines of great individuality and quality."

"A blend of unknown proportions of Syrah, Carignan, Grenache Noir and Mourvèdre, the 2022 La Clape La Cote reveals a lively, gourmand bouquet of dark berries, spices, garrigue and dark cherries. Medium-bodied, juicy and enrobing, it's fresh and elegant, with delicate tannins and a long, ethereal and dark-berries-inflected finish. The Carignan, vinified using carbonic maceration, and Syrah spent 12 months in concrete tanks, while the Grenache aged for 12 months in wooden tanks, and the remaining Syrah matured in 300-liter used barrels for 12 months."

"Liquorice notes frame the full panoply of red and black fruit which spills, super-sappy and saucy, over tannins that feel a bit like ground spices – fine with a tiny little buzz of pleasantly rustic roughness. A wine that wants to be on a noisy, happy table laden with food."
