This wine has become something of a juggernaut in terms of popularity, so each new vintage landing in the shop is always met with plenty of anticipation.
We’re pleased to report the latest release stays true to form — all the richness and generosity people love, but with an added layer of polish and finesse. Sam Kim sums it up perfectly as “sumptuous and refined”, and we couldn’t agree more.
The 2023 vintage of Linke Stonewell Block Shiraz is one to excite lovers of rich, dense and opulent Barossa Shiraz. This is a BIG wine (15.5% Alc) with an absolute feast of flavour yet with super smooth and luxurious tannins. It simply glides down while delivering oodles of long lasting power and flavour.
The Linke family first planted grapes in the Barossa in the 1930s and for the past 30 years have supplied premium fruit for St Hallett and Langmeil. This is their private label taking fruit from the famed Stonewell Block vineyard.
5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, April 2026 (2023 Vintage)
"Richly fruited and seductively fragrant, the bouquet shows blackberry, star anise, cedar, and dark chocolate characters. It's equally satisfying in the mouth, delivering outstanding weight and plush mouthfeel, superbly complemented by layers of silky tannins. Sumptuous and refined at once. At its best: now to 2038."
