Gold Medal – New Zealand International Wine Show 2025
Lawson's Dry Hills Sauvignon Blanc 2025 has plenty of classic Marlborough Sauvignon flavours, but it's the juicy, succulent texture that sets it apart. There is a flavour punch in the mid palate that makes it incredibly delicious and excitingly moreish.
Winery notes (2025 Vintage)
"Aromas of passionfruit, honeysuckle, lemon curd and fresh-cut herbs leap from the glass. The palate is vibrant and concentrated, showcasing citrus and passionfruit flavours layered with fresh herbaceous undertones. Well-balanced, with a lovely structure and a long, lingering finish.
The grapes were gently pressed and most of the juice fermented in stainless steel tanks using selected, cultured yeast. A small amount (5%) underwent wild fermentation in old French barriques, adding complexity, texture and softening the overall acidity to create an expressive and enjoyable Sauvignon Blanc.
The 2025 season gave us good flowering and a warm, dry summer, meaning we could harvest at optimal ripeness. This wine is a blend from three distinct blocks: one in the Awatere Valley and two in the Wairau Valley."
5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, September 2025 (2025 Vintage)
"Wonderfully ripe and fragrant, the bouquet presents notes of passionfruit, mango, lemon zest, and herbaceous aromas. The palate delivers terrific weight and fruit intensity, splendidly framed by refreshing acidity, making it fabulously drinkable. At its best: now to 2029."
Rated Excellent & 94/100 Cameron Douglas MS, October 2025 (2025 Vintage)
"A classic wine from a great producer. Aromas and flavours of fresh citrus and white fleshed orchard stone fruits, cape gooseberry and mango, citrus peel and golden kiwifruit. Crisp, saline and dry on the palate with a backbone of acidity and vibrant core flavours that mirror the bouquet. Plush, refreshing and tasty with best drinking from 2025 through 2028+."
4 Stars Cuisine Sauvignon Blanc Tasting 2025 (2025 Vintage)
"Ripe and clean on the nose with grapefruit citrus sitting alongside capsicum and herbs. The palate is flavour packed and fresh with a bright acidity that carries the fruit the length of the wine. Wonderfully intense, generous and long."
