From the Gourmet Traveller Wine Winemaker of the Year 2021 comes this benchmark Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Always hugely popular, it is a 'go-to' wine for many and its success is based on Jules' passion for the variety having crafted some of the most successful Sauvignon Blancs over many years. 2026 is no exception.
Winery notes (2026 Vintage)
"Explosive aromas of citrus and passionfruit leap from the glass, layered with lemongrass, Vietnamese mint and a touch of sweaty reductiveness that makes for a full spectrum Sauvignon experience! This expressive mouthful fills the palate with ripe citrus and greengage plums, passionfruit and Asian herbs. It is bone-dry and intensely concentrated, with moreish acidity leading to a long, lingering, elegant finish.
The fruit for this wine was grown in the Awatere, Taylor Pass, Hawkesbury nd Lower Wairau sub-regions of Marlborough, avoiding the main Wairau Valley floor sites. Each block was individually tended throughout the season, ensuring grapes reached optimum ripeness. With a dedicated harvesting crew on hand we were able to harvest each block individually once the fruit was ripe and the flavours were perfect. At the winery the grapes were pressed into stainless steel tanks for cold settling before gently racking off juice lees. The juice was inoculated with aromatic yeasts and gently fermented at cool temperatures to enhance the wine’s aromas and flavours. It was then left to settle on its yeast lees for a very short period before being racked. Then came the best part; each batch was tasted, and the final blend created! The resulting wine was then cold stabilised, filtered, bottled, and sealed with a screwcap to ensure perfect freshness."
5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, September 2026 (2026 Vintage)
"Offering fabulous fruit purity and power, the wine showcases green rockmelon, Granny Smith apple, feijoa, and herbaceous aromas. It's gorgeously expressed on the palate, delivering excellent weight and fruit intensity, beautifully supported by zesty acidity that makes it mouthwatering and highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2030."
Rated Excellent & 94/100 Cameron Douglas MS, October 2026 (2026 Vintage)
"An enticing and vibrant bouquet of ripeness, freshness and varietal vigour. Aromas and flavours of golden kiwifruit and lemon peel, fresh red apple and cape gooseberry ideas. There’s seam of leesyness that adds mouthfeel and complexity; a mineral gentle saline seam is delicious. Fresh, fleshy and dry with core fruit flavours leading the palate experience framed by acidity and youthful energy. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2032."
