Winery notes (2018 Vintage)
"Grenache has long been held in high esteem by Barossa winemakers. Despite being criminally overlooked elsewhere due to a workhorse history, it has hidden depths and excellent potential. Like a Rough Diamond which is quite ordinary at first glance, its real beauty as a jewel is only revealed through the cutting and polishing process.
Lifted black cherry, raspberry and rose blossom fills the nostrils with hints of sweet spice and white pepper. Sweet, juicy fruit flows over the palate which is light to medium bodied. The red berries are balanced nicely with brambly and peppered spice and soft yet drying tannins which continue through the long and fruitful finish."
91/100 Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, June 2019 (2018 Vintage)
"Rich, almost chocolaty, dark raspberry, mint and sage. Bold flavour, sweet raspberry and chocolate with a spicy and savoury edge, sandy and grainy tannin, succulent finish with a little warmth, but plenty of impact and character. Easy to like."
92/100 James Suckling, June 2019 (2018 Vintage)
"This has an attractively rich and assertive feel with plenty of raspberries on offer, delivered in a very succulent, fresh and approachable mode."
