Yalumba are the kings of value when it comes to Australian reds and they have outdone themselves with the latest release of Galway Vintage Shiraz. So tasty, so easy to drink and really sharply priced.
Winery notes (2021 Vintage)
"Yalumba Galway Vintage has always had the mandate to exceed the expectations of even the most demanding red wine drinker. Sourced from vineyards throughout the renowned Barossa region. A range of terroir can be seen across the different vineyards, from sandy soils to sandy loam, to red-brown earth over red clay, ideal for growing expressive Shiraz.
Bright ruby in colour with crimson hues. A generous nose of pepper, blackberry, choc-mocha and vanilla notes, opening further with hints of liquorice, and violets. The savoury palate shows plums and sweet spices leading onto lovely moreish tannins. Matured for 9 months in a selection of French, Hungarian and American oak."

90/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review (2021 Vintage)
"Ripe, moderately intense shiraz with typical chocolate/mocha, cassis, dark berry, liquorice and sweet oak flavours. A real crowd-pleaser offering very good value at this price ($21)."
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Obit, November 2022 (2021 Vintage)
"Offering fabulous fruit purity and perfume, the wine shows Black Doris plum, blackberry, violet, clove and toasted nut aromas. The palate displays excellent weight and ripe fruit intensity, combined with silky texture and supple tannins, offering terrific drinking. At its best: now to 2031."
