Henri Bourgeois is one of the Loire's most celebrated premium producers. This Pouilly Fumé is harvested on chalky-clay slopes. Charming and flattering, this wine presents a floral and smoky character which contributes to its harmony. Its typicity is expressed through its elegance, fruity aroma, roundness and persistence. This wine is a marvellous match with shellfish, fish, white meats and goat cheese. For example, turbot with spinach and feta cheese or goat cheese with toasted sesame seeds. Enjoy within 3 to 5 years.
Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"Citrus and yellow-fleshed fruit, with subtle flinty notes. Fresh, concentrated and elegant, with citrus and herbal aromas and mineral accents. The freshness of the fruit and the crispness of the Sauvignon Blanc create a concentrated, elegant wine that lingers on the palate with a long, mineral finish.
Gentle pressing and static settling for 24 hours. Fermentation in temperature controlled stainless-steel vats, between 15 and 18°C. This long fermentation at low temperature preserves more intense and more delicate aromas. Aged for 5 to 6 months on fine lees before bottling."
91/100 Wine Enthusiast (2024 Vintage)
"Golden Delicious apple and freshly-cut field grass aromas seduce the nose flanked by lemon peel and chamomile. The palate is springy in texture with a precise tartness running under a riper wave of orchard fruit that leans into chalk on the finish. This wine welcomes goat cheese, fried anchovies and roasted cauliflower."
