"Bright cherry lift with light milk chocolate, dried herb and green peppercorn. Ginger powder and nutmeg feature, giving the taster an overwhelming sense of quality and class. Sweet fruit entry of cherry and raspberry with a cranberry crunch that highlights the plushness and freshness of the wine. Green pepper, juniper and graphite meld well with the densely poised tannins which show a seamless slatey texture which persists long after the wine is consumed.

Grenache fruit for this wine is from 80 plus year old bush vine vineyards. Handpicked and fermented in open top fermenters with heading down boards then carefully matured in large French oak Foudres."

"More refined and complete. Medium deep colour. Dark plum, raspberry, dark chocolate hint black olive aromas with ginger notes. Concentrated dark plum, raspberry fruits with roasted walnut / praline notes, fine grainy textures and underling acidity. Lovely mid palate density and flow. 38% Grenache 31% Shiraz 30% Mataro."

"The Holy Trinity, you might think, refers to the three varieties within, but in fact it is named after a church in the Lyndoch district of the Southern Barossa Valley, much of the fruit for this traditionally sourced from vineyards in this sub-region. A rich history, and a seductively rich wine as well, the native bush fragrance of Grenache and spice of the Shiraz and Mourvèdre synchronising into an earthy, mineralled aroma, followed by an attractively sweet fruited palate, this time plum and chocolate in harmony, warmly stimulating and generous in its communal mindset."

"Plum, dark chocolate, coffee grounds and Christmas spices take centre stage initially before being joined by black pepper, paperbark, orange pith and earthy tones. The amalgam, following some time to settle in the glass, works nicely. The palate is juicy and without too much weight, with a mid-toned fruit profile. The tannins are pliable and grainy, the finish juicy and with solid length. This is nicely ripe without going into jammy territory, and while quite approachable now, will do well with shorter term ageing. A reliable release that earns its place at the table without needing to shout about it."
