"Youthful, concentrated bouquet of dark berry fruits, olives and barrel spices, wood smoke and intense earthiness of rocks and gravels. There’s violets and hints of pencil lead, iron and sweetness from new wood. Full-bodied, focused, juicy and intense. There’s concentration and power within the flavours of blackberry and black currant, dark plums and dried herbs. Delicious, lengthy and complex with polished tannins in abundance and an acid line that will ensure longevity. A style to admire and savour."

Elephant Hill is located in sunny Hawke's Bay on the eastern side of the North Island, taking full advantage of the warmth provided by high sunshine hours and low rain fall.

Elephant Hill hand picks their grapes for the purpose of extreme selectivity.

They have their own state-of-the-art biological water treatment system, allowing them to recycle winery waste water back into clean water.

Elephant Hill enjoys a wide range of terroirs across its three Hawke's Bay vineyards, including ancient stony river beds, shingle and clay. These soil types and micro climates provides single-vineyard wines and complex blending options.

The Vineyards span renowned Hawke's Bay sub-regions:
- Te Awanga Vineyard (coastal)
- Gimblett Vineyard in the Gimblett Gravels wine district (inland)
- The Triangle Vineyard in the Bridge Pa Triangle region
