Founded in 1870 by Emile Cheysson, the domain was in the hands of the monks up until the French Revolution. Emile started to work with Gamay grapes, focusing on Chiroubles wines. The appellation Chiroubles, with its vineyards at high altitude, is one of the 10 Beaujolais crus and its wines are amongst the most refined and perfumed Beaujolais.
Now owned by Jean-Pierre Large, the domaine has 60 acres of vines. They are often said to be the quintessential Gamay/Beaujolais and Domaine Cheysson wines are some of the best, often rewarded for their elegant typicity.
Charming aromas of liquorice with notes of berry fruits on a silky mouthfeel with seducing finish. Extremely well balanced.
