Winery notes (2025 Vintage)
"Nose – Raspberry. Peach. Sherbet.
Palate – Lively. Lithe. Savoury.
Drink – Upon purchase; will stay fresh for four weeks after opening.
Of the fruit we received, half was destemmed into bins and left to soak overnight. The next morning, both the whole-bunch and destemmed grapes were pressed together. The juice was settled in tank before being racked to barrel for fermentation. Fermentation took place with indigenous yeast, and the wine was allowed to ferment to dryness. Once dry, we stirred the wine weekly for three months to build texture and complexity. The wine is unfined, gently filtered, and bagged to order."
92/100 Cameron Douglas MS, September 2025 (2025 Vintage)
"Plush, bright, fresh and very fruity at the core with aromas and flavours of fresh strawberries and yellow plums, then red cherry. The fine fruit tannins and acidity add a chalky mouthfeel and crunchy texture contributing to a youthful and vibrant wine overall. A wine perfect for summer drinking alongside your favourite outdoors menu."

Dicey wines are a true reflection of the rugged landscape of Bannockburn in Central Otago. The region’s extreme climate—with its hoar frosts, blistering heat, and bitter cold—shapes the character of the wines produced. Grapes are sourced from three distinct vineyards, each owned by pioneering families spanning two generations. Each vineyard has a unique essence, influenced by its harsh, unforgiving soil and climate. The Dicey team harvests these grapes by hand, crafting single-vineyard wines that capture the spirit of their origins.
Every bottle of Dicey wine tells the annual story of Bannockburn’s vineyards, with a focus on the nuanced variations of each vintage. Selected barrels are chosen to create a blend that serves as an ode to the year—a bottled time capsule of the region. This dedication to place, family, and the land itself is at the heart of Dicey’s philosophy, making their wines a testament to both struggle and reward in an extraordinary winemaking journey.
