"A complex but fruity nose leads with white peach, green apple, and a hint of cinnamon spice. The palate is firm with plenty of fresh pear and crisp lemon tart with a long mineral core. While the fruit is opulent, it also has firm acidity with a lengthy finish resulting in a wine that will drink well young but age for many years to come."

"…A single smell or sip and you can see why with beautiful precise aromatics of apple, quince and toast with a reductive character that is borderline seductive and lures you into the glass. The complex palate has a thread of sweet fruit in great concentration and well-handled oak that serves to enhance the structure of the wine. The acidity present is juicy and long and drives the wine through to the finish which is long and luxurious, sophisticated and delicious. A mere glass of this wine is quite the imbibing experience, so imagine what the entire bottle shared with friends could do."

"Spiced apple tart with a garnish of lemon peel open this characterful Chenin Blanc, a variety that should be grown more in New Zealand, IMHO. There's a slight reductive, nutty quality here too. A burst of lemony acidity on the palate keeps you salivating, and pithy texture—like orchard fruit seeds—presents food friendly appeal. There's ease and personality here, both wins in my book."

Winemaker Daniel Brennan moved from Philadelphia to New Zealand, leaving behind his life as a touring rock band manager to pursue his passion for winemaking. He collaborates with small-scale growers to produce award-winning wines using classic practices and minimal intervention. All Decibel wines are suitable for vegetarians and vegans, sourced from certified sustainable vineyards. Daniel's goal is to transition to fully certified organic production, working closely with growers to push the boundaries of sustainable viticulture.
