Bodegas Fontana Oveja Naranja 2023 is an orange wine, made with organically grown Gewürztraminer and Muscat grapes. It is characterized by its 121-day skin maceration, which gives it aromas of black tea, fruits such as apricot and quince, and a balanced astringency. It is a gastronomic wine, ideal to enjoy with meats and other intense dishes.
The Bodegas Fontana has been in the hands of the Cantarero Morales family for more than 30 years. The famous New Zealand winemaker Sam Harrop, supports the family business in the creation of contemporary and innovative wines. The winery is located southwest of Madrid near Cuenca and has 500 hectares of vineyards that are located at about 850 meters above sea level.
Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"The Oveja Series is a “dynamic” range of limited releases. Under these labels we bottle single fermentation tanks that are the result of our work and experiments in the vineyard. The varieties and quantities bottled will vary from year to year, but we promise that all wines bottled under the Oveja labels are interesting and fun and show the potential of our area and grape varieties. The sheep on the labels represent not only our region and heritage, but are also a symbol of our honest approach to winemaking. "
