Winery notes (2013 Vintage)
"From Paul Sinnotts vineyard, above Lake Waitaki. Palest straw yellow in colour with a subtle green hue; lifted floral aromatics tinged with a hinted of spicy citrus peel and that lovely chalky mineral scent. The palate is fresh and vibrant and full of lemony goodness, more than a hint of luscious mandarin, finishing with a gorgeous limey acidity."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, July 2015 (2013 Vintage)
"A wonderfully harmonious and delicious riesling. It is immediately appealing on the nose showing mandarin, lemon peel, floral and touch of honey complexity. The palate is juicy, flavoursome and vibrant, and displays excellent fruit concentration and fine texture, perfectly structured by nicely pitched acidity. At its best: now to 2023."
4 Stars Michael Cooper (2013 Vintage)
"Grown at Lake Waitaki, the 2013 vintage is a peachy, citrusy wine, woven with cool-climate acidity, with very good depth and an off-dry, tangy finish. It's a strongly varietal wine, for drinking now or cellaring."
4 Stars & 18.0+/20 Raymond Chan, August 2015 (2013 Vintage)
"Brilliant pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. The nose is tightly bound and refined in expression with intense and penetrating aromas of lime fruit entwined with complex toasty elements and mouthwatering minerals. While floral and honied detail add to the aromatic interest. Dryish to taste and elegantly proportioned, the flavours are restrained, showing white florals, lime and secondary toast notes. The palate is concentrated and refined, balancing very fine textures with fresh, thirst-quenching acid tension. The wine flows with energy, carrying through to a soft, long lingering dry finish. This is an elegant, refined dry Riesling with intense lime and toasty aromas and a stylishly restrained, mouthwatering palate. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 4-5 years. Clones GM110 and GM 198-19 from the ‘Lakeside’ vineyard cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 7.0 g/L RS, TA 7.8 g/L."
