4 Stars & 18.0+/20 Raymond Chan, May 2016 (2014 Vintage)
"Very dark, black-hued ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. The nose is fine in presentation with aromas of ripe blackberried fruits along with some blue fruits, black pepper and Asian spice notes interwoven with rounded florals and black minerals providing lift and detail. Medium-full bodied, the palate features plush and juicy, mouthfilling flavours of vibrant and lively blackberry and blueberry fruit lifted by Asian spices. The mouthfeel has plenty of underlying acidity and vitality with floral detail adding to the lift and freshness. The fruit sweetness is enlivened by the brisk acidity and the wine follows a fine, textured line with refined tannin extraction carrying to a lively, brisk and zesty finish of black fruits. This is plush and juicy, black-fruited Syrah with spices notes, lively acidity and fine-grained extraction. Match with Middle Eastern lamb dishes over the next 5-6 years. 80% MS and 20% Chave clone Syrah from estate vineyards in the Bridge Pa Triangle fermented with a small portion of Viognier to 14.0% alc., the wine spending 14 days on skins post ferment and aged 12 months in 40% new French oak barriques."
96/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit (2014 Vintage)
"This is stunning. Engaging aromas of dark fruit, smoked meat, vanilla and cedar with nuances of cocoa and mixed spice lead to a sumptuous palate that is concentrated and velvety. The wine delivers layers of rich texture as well as plenty of supple tannins, and finishes superbly long and gratifying. A formidable offering from a terrific vintage. At its best: 2017 to 2027."
90/100 Cameron Douglas MS (2014 Vintage)
"Very ripe balck and red fruits bouquet with dark cherry, plum and blue fruits; a fresh pepper and vibrant oak layer add complexity. On the palate - firm, fresh, dry and fruity with plenty of oak. Medium tannins and plenty of acidity providing a backbone of structure and adding to a lengthy finish. Medium+ complexity, balanced and well made. A wine that should be cellared to allow for integration and harmony of all the key elements. Drink from 2018 through 2022."
