"Bright, light golden-yellow colour with some depth, a little paler edged. The nose is softly fresh with deep and well-packed aromas of ripe tropical fruit, complexing mealy notes with nutty and toasty oak with creamy barrel-ferment and buttery elements. Medium-full bodied, the palate has fill, open and accessible flavours of ripe tropical and citrus fruits entwined with a layer of creamy barrel-ferment, nutty and toasty oak, and buttery elements. The flavours show depth with underlying power, and the wine flows smoothly along a fine-textured line with light acidity lending crispness and energy. The flavours carry to a rich, soft finish. This is a rich and fulsome Chardonnay with accessible flavours of ripe citrus and tropical fruit together with creamy and toasty oak and mealy, buttery detail. Match with roast pork over the next 4 years. Fruit from 47% Monterey, 30% Santa Barbara, 22% Mendocino and 1% Sonoma Counties, WBP and barrel-fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 5 months in 11% new French and American oak, undergoing batonnage."
