Elephant Hill is recognised as one of the star wineries in the Hawkes Bay gaining recognition and accolades for many of their wines. The new vintage Elephant Hill Chardonnay 2024 another fantastic offering, showing fantastic presence, length, balance and texture. It has a fruit purity at its core but it is very much a multi-layered Chardonnay with well-judged savoury elements.

"Chardonnay is our flagship white variety at Elephant Hill. Classic, fresh seaside Chardonnay with a small portion from our warmer inland Earth side adding richness. 100% handpicked Chardonnay, fermented in a mix of tank and barrel, with partial malolactic and extended time on light lees. 16% aged in new French barrique for 11 months."

"A delicious wine, taut and dry with core flavours of ripe grapefruit and white nectarine, there’s a sea-spray quality then flavours of mineral and stone, red apple and leesy complexities. Palate textures include a fine tannins and medium+ acidity which also frame the core fruit flavours of pomaceous and stone fruits. Well made, youthful and ready to drink from mid to late 2026 through 2033."

Elephant Hill is located in sunny Hawke's Bay on the eastern side of the North Island, taking full advantage of the warmth provided by high sunshine hours and low rain fall.

Elephant Hill hand picks their grapes for the purpose of extreme selectivity.

They have their own state-of-the-art biological water treatment system, allowing them to recycle winery waste water back into clean water.

Elephant Hill enjoys a wide range of terroirs across its three Hawke's Bay vineyards, including ancient stony river beds, shingle and clay. These soil types and micro climates provides single-vineyard wines and complex blending options.

The Vineyards span renowned Hawke's Bay sub-regions:
- Te Awanga Vineyard (coastal)
- Gimblett Vineyard in the Gimblett Gravels wine district (inland)
- The Triangle Vineyard in the Bridge Pa Triangle region
