A nice price reduction for this top selling dry Pinot Gris. Fantastic buying here!
We just love what winemaker Dave Clouston does with his wines, and his take on Pinot Gris adds something a bit special to the variety. It is dry, textural and flavoursome – qualities sometimes hard to find in this variety. The winery tasting notes are spot on…
Winery notes (2025 Vintage)
"The phoenix is an immortal bird associated with Greek mythology. Much like the phoenix, after a three year hiatus, Two Rivers Pinot Gris has arisen from the ashes and is born again.
Golden straw in colour with fresh aromas of pear, toasted pine nuts, and lifted Turkish delight awaken your senses. Fresh stone fruit roasted almond flavours mingle with wild herbs. This multi-layered Pinot Gris is opulent yet clean, bright and juicy. The wine’s poised, beautiful texture leads to a well-balanced, persistent finish.
Lightly pressed, the juice was fermented cool, predominately in stainless steel to maximise fruit purity and distinctive varietal character. The wine was then aged on light yeast lees for four months to gain complexity and increase mouthfeel."
Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, November 2025 (2025 Vintage)
"An excellent wine with a bouquet of focus and concentration, mineral and ripe pomaceous fruits. Crisp, taut and dry with just a hint of residual sweetness, contrasting acidity and lengthy finish. Flavours of red and pink apple, pears and a touch of quince then white spice and wild flowers. As the wine opens out in glass some citrus flavours begin to emerge along with a light chalky, mealy texture. Well made with best drinking from 2026 through 2029. Excellent value."
18+/20 (91) Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, November 2025 (2025 Vintage)
"Bright, even, pale straw yellow. The nose is elegantly full, with aromas of Nashi pear, apple, jasmine and ginger. Medium-bodied, aromas of Nashi pear and apple intertwined with apricot, jasmine and ginger. The fruit is bright with tangy acidity, and a silky palate carried to a salivating finish. Match with sweet & sour pork and fish satay over the next 3+ years. The fruit is from the Southern Valleys, predominantly in stainless steel to 12.5% alc, 4.9 g/l RS. Then aged on light lees for 5 months."
