Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"From the late ripening Noetzli family vineyard in Maraekakaho, Hawke’s Bay, where Three Fates have been working since 2020. Handpicked and whole-bunch pressed. Natural ferment took place in two old barriques and one even older puncheon. The wines were stirred regularly both during and after ferment, gently building structure.
Bright and tangy acidity is the star here, evoking nostalgia for the sour candy and juicy peaches of childhood summer holidays. Packed full of citrus, apricot, white florals and that distinctive salty finish, this is a most refreshing drop for a sunny afternoon and would be right at home alongside a plate of freshly-shucked oysters."

"Plantings of Albariño grew from 64 to 75 hectares across Aotearoa New Zealand between 2023 and 2024 and this new expression is a lovely example from the winemaking team of Holly Girven Russell, Hester Nesbitt and Casey Motley under their new brand. It‘s fleshy, citrusy and medium-bodied. The grapes were hand-picked and the wine was aged seven months in barriques and puncheons post-fermentation, giving it depth and a smooth mouthfeel. Drinks well now and can age for four to five years."
