Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Made in extremely small quantities, the Land Series wines seek to highlight the very best from each of the unique subregions within our family of vineyards.
This Gamay is a reflection of the unique terroir of our Northburn site. Fresh red berry fruits aromas combine with a distinctive dried herb nose, giving a forest floor quality to the bouquet. Fresh, schisty tannins and lively acidity entwine around a core of vibrant red fruits and savoury, spicy top notes. This is a complex and intriguing wine revealing layers upon layers as it unfolds in the glass."
91/100 Stephen Wong, The Real Review (2023 Vintage)
"Mid-ruby with a purple hue. Quite a serious nose with hints of smoky oak and a whiff of reduction surrounding the ripe strawberry and black cherry core. With air, it reluctantly reveals layers of pepper, warm earth and cedar. The palate is ripe, with ample concentration and noticeable wood building towards the back, which all adds to the grip and grain on the slow-blooming finish. A brooding, oak-aged and serious gamay which sits comfortably in the darker fruit spectrum and has enough structure to develop complexity in the near-term."
