Tanqueray was developed in the 1830s by Charles Tanqueray, a clergyman’s son who chose not to follow the family calling and instead opened a distillery in Bloomsbury, London. Its recipe used just four botanicals (juniper, angelica root, liquorice and coriander seeds), which are still used today to make Tanqueray. A good hit of liquorice is present on the palate, with a slight spice that creates a long tingle.
drinksbiz Magazine, October 2020
"Widely regarded as the quintessential London Dry Gin, Tanqueray is beloved by bartenders the world over. It has aromas of juniper with a subtle citrus character. Clean and dry on the palate with intense juniper and liquorice that lingers on the finish."
