Winery notes (2022 Vintage)
"Vibrant and refined, showing juicy red berries, supple tannins, and fresh acidity. French oak brings subtle spice and cedar, leading to a long, elegant finish with a savoury edge. Will reward cellaring for up to 10 years."

Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, April 2025 (2021 Vintage)
"A complete wine with an enticing bouquet of red and black fruits, fresh and baked, plenty of barrel spices and smoky wood and a dry stony soil suggestion. Full-bodied, fruity and dry, a classic style with a core of fruit, tobacco and blackberry, roasted plums and pencil lead, some bacon oak and vanilla, violet and clove. Ageing nice with best drinking from day of purchase through 2030+."
93/100 David Walker Bell, WineFolio.co.nz, December 2023 (2020 Vintage)
"A red blend (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc) from the Owhanake Peninsula on Waiheke island, and an excellent vintage. A deep, inky purple colour in the glass. Perfumed with blackcurrant, chocolate nib, black plum, leather, mint, red cherry and cigar box. A plushness to the palate, but there is a tartness that reminds me of mint, tomato leaf and nettle in here too. Tannin is mellow, fine and ripe. Oak has played a part here but isn’t on the main stage today. There is a dark and savoury layer to the palate, with roasted spice, black tea, olive and cassia. Very good.
